Cheap, just like the price, but it is serving it's purpose until my real one is fixed. It does not filter background noise very well and your own voice sounds weird but it does help amplify words so I am okay with it for now. The thing I do hate is that it is large, with a long connector between earpiece and the body, so it hands down behind my ear and is kind of floppy. Luckily my hair hides it.NOW, let me just say that Amazon totally displeased me with this order and for my inconvenience only offered me a 1 month extension on my PRIME membership. This was a PRIME eligible product and I DEFINITELY needed it in 2 days. However I got it a week later. Their explanation was that a little box apparently popped up somewhere in my last screen when placing my order stating that they could get it to me at such and such a date, HOWEVER, the box for 2 day ground shipping still defaulted and was checked off, which is the ONLY thing I am paying attention to when ordering as I ALWAYS do. This was an inconvenience beyond belief for me, as I struggled hearing my coworkers, my school professor and classmates, and now people who had no idea that I had a hearing problem at all now know that I do, and a significant one at that. I was embarrassed and also at a disadvantage in class because the instructor is not going to yell or slow down on my account. I told AMAZON that this alert they spoke of should be in BIG RED BOLD LETTERS, because had I seen it, I would have gone back and ordered a different product that would have arrived in 2 days, which is what I pay for as a PRIME member. They have not yet responded to my retort, and I am insulted that they're only offer is a 1 month extension on my membership. AMAZON has made me feel that they do not care and all they want is my money, period. Anyway, just putting that out there for anyone who is interested.I had ordered one in January, that also included a receptacle for a (AAA) battery as a backup when away from an electrical receptacle to recharge the unit. Was well pleased with it.. When informing my sister, Donna Murphy, of how well I liked it, she asked me to order one for her also. I did so on Feb. 4th, and it arrived a few days later. She lives in Cedar Rapids, IA, I live 60 miles away in Hazleton, IA. She called me the day after she had received it and charged it overnight telling me it did not work, and that there was no place to install a (AAA) battery. The (okara) I had ordered for her, stated that the the unit did have the (AAA) advantage. She has called me numerous times upset with this. I printed off the necessary paper work for her to return it, but she says she is not able to do so as she is quite old. As stated above, I am well pleased with the one I received, and believed she was getting the same thing. The one she evidently got was the cheaper version, but she still paid the higher price. Have made numerous purchases through Amazon, including the most recent, a Holmes humidifier which I received a few days ago, and am well pleased with. I do think you should make this right with her. Donna Murphy 618 18th St S E Cedar Rapids, IA 52403 Thank You. Gene LoomisI bought this hearing device due to hearing loss. It does work but there's too much white noise as what my husband describes it as. Great for conversations, not so great for tv. It does interfere with the fridge and phone. If you get close to the fridge or phone, it makes a humming noise that shouldn't be there. It's ok I guess, but It will have to do until my expensive professional hearing aid comes in. It is comfortable to wear but if your a female, the back of the hearing aid will hang low and show and the part that fits into the ear shows more then what the picture shows. Also the clear ear piece comes with two sizes, I would describe them as medium and large. So if you have a small adult ear canal. You'll have to try to squeeze the medium into your ear. This product was made more for a man, and didn't take in account sizes for a woman. Shipping was fast. I paid for two day delivery and it came in one day.On the same day I bought three hearing amplifiers, each with different prices. This one was not the cheapest but it's the best of the lot and my personal favorite. And for me, the price was right. The unit fits behind my ear and when the plastic tip is rotated right it angles into the ear canal. This unit almost never squeals and the controls are very easy to move without removing it from my ear.Rather than buying batteries for a unit, I wanted to have a rechargeable one to see how much trouble it would be. Recharging is a low cost way to go, no batteries to buy, but battery operated units are quicker to get back into operation. No leaving it out for a couple of hours recharging. This amplifier was different because it has no AC adapter for charging. It has a space in the plastic box for a AAA battery to fit, then you place the amplifier in its location and the green light goes on letting you know it's charging. It then draws its power from the battery to charge its own internal battery. I usually get two full charges from one battery. This method has the advantage of being very portable. You can take this anywhere in the home or in your purse or case for use elsewhere. And the AAA batteries are available everywhere in the US. I use it daily and I'm very pleased with it.They came apart in one dayI have ordered four of them. Two never worked from day one. I couldn't figure out how to return them so they are still in the box. One worked great for about two months and then quit. The fourth one has been wonderful. I spent $1,400 on one from Zounds and it STINKS. I've been back there five times but I haven't gotten any satisfaction. The Okara WB-171 I love. I enjoy being able to turn it up and down so easy. For the price I feel I am very happy. Just wish I could get the two bad ones replaced.
