I bought this several years ago because it’s battery operated and they do better than usb in my book. I use rechargeable batteries. It has great brightness and dimming. My batteries last about 36 -40 hours. I use it many hours a day and night also as a nightlight. I bought this second one to have as backup since battery ones are getting harder to find.My only dislike is the battery compartment needs a small screwdriver since it has a screw. I just tossed the screw and use a rubber band to hold the back on the battery compartment. So poor design in my book. But otherwise it’s a great little light
