Well I've only use this twice and using it to charge D cells. It takes a LONG time to fully charge. I can pull the batteries out let them cool (not that they are hot) and put them right back in and charge them some more?? It seem to work fine and for the money it does the job. I don't know how long it will last but it's made like most things today seems flimsily. Now it does say how long it will take to fully charge the size of batteries you are working with and it was about right for my D cells. The batteries you get will also have some to do with the charge so.... Would I buy it again yes but may move up to a better one next time for me.I Bought this EBL battery charger In November [2021]. By mid December, the 3rd bay started giving me error messages for every battery I tried to charge. Luckily, it had been less than a month since the charger was purchased, so I was able to exchange The faulty charger for a new one.The replacement EBL charger worked well for 7 months until 3 days ago. Now the 1st bay is giving me a error message for every battery I try to charge. The batteries charge fine in all the other bays except for the first bay.I'm really disappointed, since my warranty rch out 6 months ago there's nothing I can do. These chargers are great for awhile, but if you're looking for a product that will last, don't order this one.UPDATE: A week after I posted my initial review, I was contacted by the seller & offered a refund or a replacement battery charger. I was very surprised by this since It's been about 8 months since I purchased the battery charger. I chose a replacement, hopefully this battery charger will last.Has very nice diagnostic features for the price. Is a real improvement over similarly priced items I have bought in the past. The ability to charge multiple sizes including 9 volt is a killer feature. Wouldn't survive young kids or hyperactive dogs, but way better than average value in this price range, though I haven't had long enough to judge lifetime or long term durability. Not much better available at this price point, strong recommendation.I love this charger. I had one for years then sold everything and traveled for a while. Now that I am settled back down, I bought another one since I had such good luck with the first one.I can charge C batteries all the way to AAA batteries with this charger. It's sturdy and versatile!This battery charger can be used with many battery types very easily. The best feature for me is the fact that the batteries can be left in and there is a trickle charge.08/04/22 EBL sent me a replacement. A rarity for sure. This says a LOT about this company. They actually care about the customers that are paying the bills. I charged up 8 AA and a handful of AAA batteries. All EBLs. I also discharged a bunch of them. Never got any errors. Everything worked as expected. I am throwing the earlier charger in the trash since it was obviously defective. This one is a keeper.Previous review:For the life of me I cannot figure out how EBL could screw up a battery charger but they sure did.I use only EBL batteries, almost all AA's, which is immaterial. I imagine a good 66% of the ones I putin this so called "smart" battery charger come back as "bad" meaning they won't charge. I then move theminto a normal charger and they charge up fine. I have lost count of all the battery chargers I have owned and this one is the most aggravating one of them all! BTW, what "longevity" and "battery life" have to do witha battery charger are beyond me! Yes it is easy to use, too bad it doesn't work!It is a good charger that is not designed as a speed charger. Its best to put batteries in and let them charge overnight. It will cycle itself off automatically when batteries are fully charged.I'm used to buying Amazon Basics rechargeable batteries and those come pre-charged so I was a little bit surprised when I tried using some of the EBL batteries right out of the box and found my devices were quickly drained to nothing. Then I came back to the listing and noticed it says "Ready2Charge". These are only pre-charged 15-20% so they will drain quickly, but per the description they should also retain 80% charge over a 3 year period. I simply charged all the batteries I purchased and now feel confident I should have power ready when I need it.I like that they come packaged in a cardboard box with small plastic cases inside. It makes it convenient to grab a pack and throw it in bag or organize in a drawer. They also seem to have good capacity/last when charged. I would recommend any of the sizes - AA, AAA, C or D.Good D size rechageable batteries, and used it to power my coleman LED lantern.Could not written this product as the order was repeated by error my request was not considered as it will not be of much use to meGood capacity long lasting.
